At a first glance, Kosei would come out as a friendly and an outgoing person. While he smiles almost all the time, keeping a pleasant facade that makes him seem like he would get along well with everyone, Kosei's smiles are mostly not heartfelt and has more of a teasing nature, thus he is actually claimed to be annoying by some individuals. Kosei is an intelligent lad. He's quick to understand most things and has a high capacity to store knowledge. He's quick to comprehend the task at hand and he is a fast thinker. Not to mention he is also a cunning person. He can easily trick most people to do anything that he wants them to do or make them believe that his words are trustworthy. He has the natural ability to deceive and spoof others into his pace. Also, he is very observant and he can make up theories to figure anyone's weakness. He isn’t always right with these theories, but this would most likely cause some people try and avoid him in an attempt to save their sanity from his antics.

Kosei could use those weaknesses against others without any remorse, just so that he could feel superior. Since he is a competitive person, he wouldn't let someone easily take the throne. He always wants to wear the crown, stand at the top of the mountain, and let others chase him, not the other way around. Kosei is also very determined to reach his goals. He wouldn't stop halfway through when something catches his interest. Even though he doesn't seems like it, Kosei is pretty responsible with the things he needs to do. Because he usually succeeds in most of his endeavors, Kosei can also be perceived as smug. He believes that he always does his best at everything and would never slack off at any job that he was appointed to. But despite of having such a huge amount of self-confidence, he tends to fail as well. This urges him to be very hardworking, especially when it comes to things that he is passionate about. He works extremely hard and would do practice vigorously to improve himself, particularly in sports-related matters. Although in other cases, he is also regarded as frivolous. Sometimes people see him too lax or taking life too lightly on the things that doesn't sparks his interest. He's generally able to keep a calm and sturdy composure, but even this is prone to collapsing whenever he is stressed out or overthinking.

When faced with a difficult situation, Kosei is also adaptable. He can adjust himself to any situation easily. He would always take charge in solving the problem and would keep trying until he comes up with a solution. Kosei also has a caring side to him, although he only shows this to his family and close friends. It's rather really hard to get his affection, but it's not impossible. He also has a sarcastic tongue. His fast responses can get the better of him as he would blurt out obvious things that people usually don’t say out loud. At given times he would also add an intimidating sentence, or something that would send a shiver down a person's spine. Despite these, Kosei is actually a childish and carefree individual. He would mock anyone that gets on his nerves and would show rude behavior. He would also play pranks at people because in his opinion it is rather fun. He doesn't really ponder over things frequently, since it would only result in him stressing out, thus he would most of the times just let it slide. He is also seen as provocative since he enjoys instigating reactions out of others and would likely enjoy whatever response he gets, even if it’s not a response he wants. He is also rather impersonal, thus it’s easy for him to do such things to people he doesn't consider himself knowing well, without caring for the person’s feelings.

TL;DR: Keeps a pleasant frame, has a 'disgusting' personality, likes to prank and annoys people but overall is hard working and very caring to his loved ones.

★ B A C K G R O U N D  H I S T O R Y

Kosei started off as an only child where his parents spoiled him to no end. But as years passed, his parents spent more and more of their time at their jobs, thus he eventually grew up without a proper mother and father figure. However, his life wasn't lonely at all--in reality, he had five siblings in total. His parents had always wanted twins, thus kept on trying despite Kosei's initial protests. Luckily, on the fourth try, they finally got twins, two healthy baby boys.

In his early years of primary school, Kosei already had to act like an older brother. He never had much opportunity or time to hang out with his friends. More than often, it was his duty to pick up his siblings in kindergarten and preschool, or daycare or wherever his parents decided to drop them off after school. Albeit, he usually had to decline when his friends invited him out. It wasn't that his parents were workaholics who never spent quality time with their kids, but rather, with six children, they needed to work a lot to support them all. His parents would work diligently to receive promotions, waking up before everyone else did and returning home when everyone else was asleep. Everyone except Kosei, that is, since he always had the conviction to await his parents' return to serve them dinner.

With this family situation, it was a must for him to take care of his younger siblings in place of his parents. He was already cooking his own meals at a young age, not to mention packing his siblings' lunches for school. Life at home was pretty hectic, but he didn't really mind it. Despite of having no serious problems in taking care of his family, sometimes Kosei felt troubled. In grade school, he eventually found a friend--neighbor, too, he soon discovered--that didn't really mind his annoying antics. Although they would argue a lot, at some point, they somehow succeeded in getting adjusted to one another. Motoya Kagari would help him a lot by watching over his little sisters and brothers with him. She would come over to their house so often that it came to the point where his little siblings would regard to her as their big sister as well. Kosei appreciated her help since his siblings were quite a handful, although he doesn't show it.

When Kosei finally entered middle school, his three little sisters were in elementary school. Thankfully, they were able to do their own chores and take care of themselves a little, even though Kosei still insisted on making them their lunches. Now that he had more free time than before, he was able to continued basketball and joined a team and played in a lot of tournaments. He also even had some time to go out with his friends. It felt that his life was going in the right direction now. Yet, Kosei felt that there was something missing. He realized that not tending to his younger siblings left a hole in his daily life, and that his sisters appeared to be more occupied with their responsibilities than he ever was. Because he wanted his sisters to focus more on their hobbies and such, he feverishly returned to mothering his younger twin brothers, instead of his sisters. Kosei spent those days sending and picking them up from school and resuming his daily chores such as cooking breakfast and dinner. He didn't notice it, but his middle school days passed by more quickly than intended, after this.

Now that he had to focus on his studies for upcoming high school entrance exams, his little sisters offered their help to take care of their little brothers. Kosei was forced to accept their aid, though he made this decision with a heavy heart. Since he still wanted to support his family, he decided to enter a school that wasn't too far away, only a few stations from his house. Misawabi High was that perfect place, and where he hoped to study for his high school career.
